Baanar in November

Fellow Baanars! It’s the end of November already 🙂 One more month and it’s a wrap.

Anyway, where do we start then…

My mother a few months back, shared some wisdom when I was ranting about customer acquisition, ‘it’s not about selling to a customer. It’s when they start to reorder that you will know that your products are working.’ Since then I have had my fingers crossed.

And I tell you, this month we have repeat orders. Not too many. But its starting to happen. Along with some amazing reviews. We are so excited that people are loving are products.

More Products You Say?

Yes. That is correct!

Goa Gauti Red Rice

From the rain-fed Khazans of Goa, this Rice is a traditional variety naturally rich in iron, antioxidants, and fibre. Its red husk, unpolished and nutrient-dense, gives it a distinctive colour, earthy aroma, nutty flavour, and remarkable health benefits.

Goan Thippal Pepper

The Coastal Spice You Always Needed
Straight from the Western Ghats, Teppal (Tirphal) is a wild spice that brings a sharp, citrusy hum to coastal dishes. Used traditionally in Goan and Konkani curries, it balances flavour, aids digestion, and leaves a gentle tingling warmth.

I excitedly created a bunch of new product sketches and labels for the packaging as you would have guessed Haha (And updated older packaging)

Stall at the Clean Food Market

On the 14th of December, we will be setting up a table at the Clean Food Market. I am really looking forward to the face-to-face interactions. Since so far it’s all been online adverts and sales it should be interesting to speak with in person with out customers. I am a little jittery about this though, knowing how get when in public 🙂

Website Update

Now that the website has moved entirely to WordPress updating it is so much easier. And one of the things we have been refining is our About section. With all the work that is happening behind the scenes, articulating the brand properly is important. And look at us. Using all these words :)))

About us (November, 2025)

We follow the trails of India’s quiet traditions; the ones shaped by hands, seasons, soil, and stories. Our journey takes us from the rain-fed hills of Meghalaya, to the red-earth fields of Goa to the banks of Patna. We are a store celebrating India’s most soulful creations, spices, crafts, apparels, and everyday objects rooted in tradition and made with intention.

We work with farmers who listen to the earth, artisans who refuse to rush, and small-scale creators who believe in the dignity of handmade work. Every product we bring you is born from this philosophy; thoughtful, organic, sustainable, and a little unexpected.

In a world that celebrates speed, Baanar stands for the opposite. Created in small batches with intentional slowness, tradition, and the belief that everyday objects should be meaningful. Each product is a story you can cook with, wear, display or gift. We are not just a shop. We are a promise to keep India’s slow traditions alive, one product at a time.

Social media Marketing

We are painfully aware that we are very rarely active on social media. Which I understand is not cool. But with all the product developments it’s hard to keep up. But we did share this post.

We also used this post as an Ad and I am not sure if we are doing something wrong or if this is how it works, but all we have been getting is either scams or new influencers asking for collabs. Need to figure this out soon.

Also, if you don’t already follow us on instagram. What are you even doing? haha

That’s all for today. Do check out our products and buy some for yourself 🙂
