We invite you to submit your proposals for a mixed media installation that envisions a futuristic Meghalaya in 2050. We’re looking for creations that depict ‘Day in the life of’ scenarios, showcasing themes of Healthcare Improvements, Educational Opportunities, Infrastructure Development, Sustainable Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Cultural & Knowledge Preservation, Eco Tourism, Community Empowerment & Sustainable Urban Development.
We are looking for artists working in the following mediums — Wood sculpting & Woodwork, Black pottery, Bamboo & Cane Mat weavers, Bamboo crafts, Handloom and Textile, Traditional Mask Makers, Photographer, Musical Instrument Maker & Cartographer.
Project Location — Meghalaya, India.
Proposal Submission Deadline — July 15th, 2024
Final Installation Submission Deadline — August 15th, 2024

An panel of eminent jurors will select 6 (six) artists based on their portfolio to be part of the Connected Roots installation.
Artists selected will be awarded an amount of INR 40,000 (Forty Thousand Rupees) each to create the artwork/installation— A maximum size of 3 feet wide and 6 feet tall using a maximum of 2 to 3 materials.
The selection & judging committee has full authority to accept or reject any application. The decision of the Committee will be final, and the Monkeyverse or the jurors will entertain no communication on this issue. Only selected artists will be intimated about the project and the exhibition.

Drawing/Painting/Sculpture/Ceramics/Printmaking/Photography/Wood/Cane & Bamboo/Mixed Media & Crafts.
HOW TO APPLY
Portfolio — ONE PDF of a maximum of 10 MB in size should contain 6-10 artwork images with details. (The details must include, title, size, medium & year of execution).
Proposal — ONE PDF of a maximum of 10 MB in size with details about the concepts behind the work, techniques, the materials being used, etc.
Artist’s bio & Statement — A maximum of 500 words. (We will accept statements in English only.)

TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Share two reference names and contact (mobile & email). Reference may be your teachers or senior artists or mentors. They will be contacted by us only if necessary.
- The submitted works should be made for the Connected Roots installation itself.
- Sculptural and installation works larger than specified sizes will not be considered.
- The final submission will not be reproduced for any other exhibition.
- The submission will be showcased at the Dawki, LPAI Land Port as per our discretion.
- The selected applicant will be responsible for sending the artwork to the site.
- The artist will be responsible for any damages during the production, transport and installation of the artwork.
- The artists of age between 18 and 35 years are eligible to apply.
- All works submitted for jury selection MUST BE created and available for installation.
- No personal calls to Monkeyverse team will be entertained.
