Amazing 100% Cotton TShirts. Finally!

Hello Baanars,

Time might be a human construct, and maybe it doesn’t affect us “baanars” as much…

…but is it the end of March already? Dayum!!

I’ve almost wrapped up the Goa space and am looking forward to the next phase of my life and Baanar. And though things are shifting physically, Baanar has steadily been moving in the background. And one could say, ‘picking up’ pace. (I might do an event or two in Chandigarh in the coming months. But more on that later.)

The T-Shirts

After a lot of back and forth, a ton of testing, and failed decisions that didn’t feel small at the time, the oversized t-shirts are live. Finally a product I am happy with! Designed in an oversized fit, this heavyweight 240 GSM cotton t-shirt is made for everyday comfort with a relaxed, boxy silhouette. Crafted using soft French Terry fabric, it offers a structured drape while remaining breathable and easy to wear through the day.

Printed on a heavyweight cotton base, the artwork sits bold and unapologetic against the softness of the fabric. The illustrations feel right.

The ‘Vajra‘ and the ‘Now Half Ashes Burn‘ oversized t-shirts are live — both built around illustrations that have been part of the Monkeyverse process for a while.

There are more illustrations in progress that I’ve been sharing parts of on YouTube. So you can follow the development there if you like.

The Photoshoot

I ran a small demo shoot for the t-shirts to create a moodboard for a photographer I had been speaking with. That did not pan out as or now, but the images are not completely useless. Nothing too polished, just enough to understand how the pieces sit, move, and exist outside the screen. But for now this is what I have, so I will make the most of it 🙂 Sometimes you don’t need a full production. Just enough to see the product breathe.

These pieces started to make more sense once they were off-screen.

The Homepage

I also updated the homepage to reflect the new products. It’s still evolving, but it now feels closer to what Baanar is trying to become. The colours are somewhat there, and the fonts are somewhat making sense. I think another two quarters and things should be in place.

Less placeholder. More intent. haha

If you’ve been following along, this is the first time something from Baanar exists outside the process. You can explore the pieces here: Baanar.com

Shipping + What’s Next

I shipped out All Will Rise t-shirts for the entire team. Which is to say that if all goes well, international shipping should open up in the coming months. That’s something I’ve been looking forward to for a while.

On the backend, I’ve started integrating logistics more seriously, including a collaboration with Delhivery. Still in progress, but more on that in the coming months.

Building a footprint for the bots!

I know that SEO and GEO will take a long time for Baanar but one has to start somewhere so I put together two blog posts this month. And a few in social posts.

One was just a simple hello — the kind of thing I write all the time (I have written more hello posts then regular posts haha). The other blog was more of an exploration of the nostalgia that led to the starting of Baanar in the first place. And a third that talks about the benefits of Curcumin and what that is turmeric.

It’s a start. This is as much a process of learning to be an entrepreneur for me. And it quite a ride!

I also made a couple of reels around nostalgia and turmeric. Nothing too complex. Just ideas I wanted to put out into the world.

Inventory System

Baanar Inventory system Full

This was unexpectedly satisfying. I spent some time improving the inventory system using Google Sheets. Building a way to generate SKUs based on product specs and organise everything based multiple layers of buckets and specs. It’s complicated application. But it works. And it sounds small, but it has already changed my cost and sale mechanic.

This is important especially since I’m planning to expand into more products soon — including handmade soaps. Which are coming to the store next month.

But this inventory system is one of those invisible systems that makes everything else possible.

Some rabbit holes to go down if you are interested in building these systems.

That’s where things stand for now.
Until next time.
